About me

There is definitely more of a positive buzz where Professional Supervision is concerned, and it is something I wish had been more prevalent when I started on my career path to becoming a qualified BSL/English Interpreter.

Whilst venting to colleagues has its merits, structured supervision allows meaningful time in which to reflect and pick apart our work in a safe, non-judgmental environment. It aids our development as professionals and allows us to offload therapeutically, mitigating the build up of work related stress and avoiding burn-out.

Supervisees should expect to be challenged during supervision to reflect on issues that arise through their work and should be prepared to consider their decision making processes whilst evaluating alternative strategies. The aim is for the supervisee to create a toolkit of coping mechanisms that can help to build resilience, whilst maintaining high standards of professional conduct.

I achieved my 360 Diploma in Supervision in June 2022 and am able to offer supervision to anyone working in a people facing role, particularly language service providers. I have access to a therapy room in Coventry where 1:1 sessions can be held face to face, alternatively, I am happy to work with supervisees remotely via a secure link.
